About Me: Charlotte HIV/AIDES People Support (CHAPS), a 501c3 all volunteer organization, whose mission is to provide a pantry of food and hygienic supplies for clients with HIV/AIDES, as recommended from the County Department of Public Health, for Charlotte County, South Sarasota County, and Desoto County.

Charli's Angels Golf Tournament nets $13,500 for CHAPS food pantry

Charli's Angels Golf Tournament Chair Wanda Jubb presented a check for $13,500.00 to Charlotte HIV/AIDS People Support (CHAPS) President Rev. Lori E. Rivera. The money was raised from the 10th year tournament, held at the Rotonda Golf and Country Club.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Charlotte County holds a peace vigil

A peace vigil was held on March 8th at Tamiami Trail and Forrest Nelson Blvd.  At least 20 people carried signs saying, End the US War and Occupation of Iraq, Support an Iraqi-led Peace Process, Support our Troops, Say No to Torture and Yes to Justice.  Many drivers honked their horns and held thumbs to show their support.  The vigil was sponsored by the Social Concerns Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Charlotte County. CHAPS receives grant award of $7500

The Charlotte HIV/AIDS People Support, Inc. (CHAPS) has been awarded $7,500 in grant funds by The Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS organization, announced CHAPS president, The Reverend Lori Rivera.

Four Redhat Studio Artists Create Mad Hats for CSO Mad Hatter Tea Party

It was Thursday afternoon that four Redhat Studio artist's gathered to creatively construct their hats in preparation for the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra's Mad Hatter Tea Party on February 9.

Patricia Will Hubert, age 77, died at Fawcett Memorial Hospital on January 23, 2008.
